Mr. Morris, the great-great-great grandson of Frederick Douglass, and the great-great grandson of Booker T. Washington, was a guest to the Society's properties in Akron and Summit County this past summer while a leader for the Footsteps to Freedom Underground Railroad tour. That program was started 30 years ago by Mrs. Cheryl Brown, mother of Hardy Brown, Jr., our 2025 JBI Fall Lecture keynote who is the managing principal and chief relationship officer, and Paulette Brown-Hinds, Ph.D. COO.
This October, Mr. Morris will lead the Douglass Travel Club's inaugural "Walking in Freedom" tour in Scotland.
