AKRON MUNICIPAL COURT CANCELS OFF-SITE ST. PATRICK’S
DAY WEDDINGS AND TEMPORARILY SUSPENDS NEW WEDDING CEREMONY APPOINTMENTS

Akron, Ohio, March 13, 2020 – As the threat of COVD-19 continues to develop in Ohio, the Akron Municipal Court has chosen to cancel St. Patrick’s Day weddings scheduled to take place at the Summit County Historical Society’s Perkins Stone Mansion on Tuesday, March 17, 2020.

All seven participating couples have been contacted prior to this news release distribution.

Please contact the Akron Municipal Court Service Bailiffs’ Office at (330) 375-2592 to reschedule existing marriage ceremony appointments that were booked for the courthouse if either party is ill or if either party is in a higher risk category of severe illness.

All new marriage ceremony appointments are suspended until further notice. We advise any couples who had planned to be married at the courthouse but had not scheduled yet to contact the Summit County Probate Court to discuss extensions of marriage license dates.

The Akron Municipal Court serves the cities of Akron and Fairlawn; the townships of Bath, Richfield and Springfield; the Villages of Lakemore and Richfield; and that part of Mogadore in Summit County, Ohio.
