An Evening with John Brown and Friends

The Summit County Historical Society of Akron, OH, invites you to an evening with John Brown.

Come celebrate Black History month with us as we tell the story of an American abolitionist born in 1800 best known for his radical opposition to slavery.

Of all the major figures associated with the Civil War, John Brown stands tall! His life and legacy are forever stamped in our nation’s history and he was our neighbor.

Listen to personal accounts from his lifelong Hudson friend Lora Case, the woman whom he called General Harriet Tubman, and John Brown himself.

Come learn about his life, family, and sacrifice as we tell the story of such a courageous man.

Doors open at 3:30 pm with the program starting at 4:00 pm

The cost is $10.00 per person/$7.00 for Society members and volunteers. Tickets are available on EventBrite.
