Working Dog Wednesdays and Mutton Hill Mondays

Jun 01, 2023

Sheep have returned to Mutton Hill!

Thank you to Jennifer Littlebear at the Jacobs Heritage Farm for loaning her Jacob sheep to the Society again this summer. These cuties with two to six horns will be grazing on the front lawn of the Perkins Stone Mansion throughout the summer and you're invited to come out to visit them.

Volunteers Edie, Society shepherdess, Gina and Emily will bring their working dogs to Mutton Hill to herd the sheep. Many will remember Rudy, Luke, Dyna, Lincoln, Brooklyn and Owen. New to the pack are puppies Bruce and Kiku.

Working Dog Wednesdays are held at 5:30 p.m. on these select Wednesday evenings: June 14, July 12, August 9 and September 13. Bring a lawn chair and be ready to be awed by the amazing instincts and skills of the working dogs.

Mutton Hill Mondays are hosted at 12:00 p.m. on these select Monday afternoons: June 26 (this program is cancelled due to weather on June 26), July 24 and August 21. Pack a lunch and learn about how to care for sheep and see the dogs in action too.

Mutton Hill programming is sponsored in part by the Modibo Mutton Hill Fund at the Akron Community Foundation. Donate today to support their work.
