The Society welcomes home one of its own for a special book talk on 9-11. Kelley Shinn grew up in the Portage Lakes area where many perceived her as a typical teenager until a misdiagnosis caused her to lose both legs below the knee. The Wounds That Bind Us is her story where the truth comes out . . . her adoption . . . abuse . . . passion . . . unconditional love as a parent.
Kelley will share passages from her amazing work including a segment about September 11, 2001. You will be swept away by her candor and the adventures she takes in a Land Rover.
