Hobo, Tramp or Bum? Hobo’s had a code of theics which was established in the late 1800s. They had their own expressions, words and phrases:
*Jungle - an area not far from the railroad tracks where hobos camp and congregate
*Nickle Note - a five dollar bill
*Possum Belly - riding the roof of a passenger car
