Rocks of Mutton Hill

Oct 02, 2021

During an easy walk around Mutton Hill we will hear about—and get a view of—the rock that underlies the hill, the stone used for the Perkins Stone Mansion, and the stone used for other historic items on this site. We will also explore the connection between the rock, the overlying soil, and the sheep.

Geologist Joe Hannibal teaches paleontology at the University of Akron and is the author of Guide to the Building Stones and Cultural Geology of Akron.

This event is free but reservations are required to allow everyone to have a good tour experience. Future tours are being planned if the slots fill quickly. Please sign up at EventBrite.org or call the Society office at 330.535.1120.
