Join Doug Piekarz, Akron Zoo, Dave Lieberth and Leianne Neff Heppner, Summit County Historical Society, for a hike up to the John Brown Monument. Learn more about the local abolitionist who helped spark the Civil War! 

In honor of the Suffrage Centennial, Josy Jones will recite the speech given by Sojourner Truth here in Akron at the 1851 Ohio Women's Convention. You know it as "Ain't I a Woman?" but did you know that title and those words are not hers?

Akron Zoo back parking lot. Please come in main entrance and turn left and follow parking lot to end. We will meet at the fence before going up the hill. Please come prepared for the weather and note that the hike is on an incline. Event will occur rain or shine.
