Family Fun Day - Happy 96th Birthday to the Society

Jul 11, 2020

The Society will celebrate its birthday with the community in the morning this year!

Visit the grounds of the Perkins Stone Mansion between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. for sheep herding, a scavenger hunt and to see banners about the life of John Brown.

Society shepherdess Edie Steiner will have her four border collies (Rudy, Luke, Lincoln and Owen) to herd her flock of Katahdin hair sheep. Demonstrations will be hosted at 10:15 a.m., 11:15 a.m. and 12:15 a.m.

This event is free and open to the public. Masks and social distancing are encouraged as attendees can spread out on the multiple acres at the Summit County Historical Society of Akron headquarters.

Please consider bringing a blanket or chair to enjoy the morning on Mutton Hill!
