Join Dave Lieberth, President of the Akron History Center and Chairman Emeritus of the Summit County Historical Society, for the grand opening of the Akron History Center, an idea he developed over 30 years ago. The opening corresponds with the City of Akron Bicentennial.
A lot is packed into three floors featuring prehistory and early history on the lowest level, boomtown and industry on the second level down and Akronites who have impacted the world on the S. Main Street entrance level.
The Akron History Center will be open from 1 - 5 p.m. to the public on Saturday and then 1 - 4 p.m. on Sunday. After this weekend, the site will be open from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. There is no admission fee.
