The 3rd annual John Brown Institute Fall Lecture will be held at the City of Joy Enrichment Center at 6:30 p.m. Hardy Brown II will be the keynote speaker and Dr. Hasan Kwame Jeffries, our inaugural speaker, will join us again as moderator. The 2025 theme is Truth Carried Forward: Saving History, Securing the Future! Mr. Brown has an archive of over 15,000 primary resources and his lecture will reveal how these documents tell the story of our theme. A resident of San Bernardino County, CA, Mr. Brown is the Managing Principal and Chief Relationship Officer for Footsteps to Freedom, Inc. Each summer, Brown, his sister and team members bring 400 educators and administrators to Ohio, Michigan and Canada to follow the Underground Railroad routes to freedom in an empathy tour.
Dr. Hasan Kwame Jeffries, history professor at The Ohio State University, will be the moderator.
