Giving Thanks to Rosie the Riveter
We had the pleasure of meeting and talking with several wonderful ladies that worked in Akron at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in Plants 1 and c constructing aircraft during WWII. Miriam graciously donated a picture of herself standing on the steps of her boarding house dressed and ready for work at Goodyear Aircraft. The picture is now a show piece in the “Many Hats of World War II” Remember When program. All the Akron Rosies signed SCHS’ copy of Rosie the Rubber Worker: Women Workers in Akron’s Rubber Factories During World War II. It was wonderful to hear their stories of their times in Akron and how it will always remain a special place for them.
Miriam, Betty, and Mazie worked at Goodyear in Akron during WWII.
