The Society will celebrate John Brown's 224th birthday with an open house on May 9th from 4 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. Attendees may view the exhibits, discussion John Brown with Society volunteers and staff and then enjoy a sweet dessert. A slide show compiled by Dave Gates, Society Education Specialist, will be looping during the event.
An additional special ticketed program will occur at 5:00 and 5:30 p.m. entitled, "John Brown's Legacy of Freedom Underground Railroad Experience." The price is $10 per person that includes the participant name to be added to the John Brown Donor Wall later this year. The walking tour includes first person presentations by local actors sharing experiences of those involved in the Underground Railroad. This production is being directed by Reva Golden, Society Education and Outreach Coordinator.
